The genesis of this illustration is quite complex. It aims to reinterpret the words of a character from the book "Three religious rebels". The idea is to convey the perception that our lives are a constant calling, poised on the edge of a world in decline. The light represents the call; the window acts as a breach, exposing the figure to that call.
As may be evident, creating this piece was a deeply engaging and rewarding process.
